Juan Palacios

    Director and Cinematographer

His body of work is influenced by personal experiences as an actor, visual artist, and as an immigrant. Originally from Ipiales, a city situated in the Andean highlands in the south of Colombia, Juan is currently based in New York City, pursuing his M.A in Media Studies at The New School. Besides being a self-taught digital cinematographer, Juan has done freelance work for different production companies and brands, including Zero Waste Daniel, Dakoit Pictures, ID Studio Theater, and others. Juan also has collaborated on numerous independent narrative short-films as an editor, colorist, and cinematographer. Between moving to New York in 2016 and obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts from the Universidad Central in 2014, he worked in the theater district of Bogota, both teaching drama and performing in over 15 professional plays.

Having recently graduated from The New School with a BA in Media Studies, Marshall's interest is in applying his expertise and love of film to every project he works on - from commercial to narrative. His years directing, producing, and crewing in the New York area - specializing in shooting and processing 16mm film and other film formats - are a wealth of experiences and connections that Marshall  brings to every set. Formerly employed at Reddog Production he also teaches beginner courses on screenwriting in Callicoon, NY, as part of ENGN’s film studies accessibility program.
